- Eric Kaplan, regular writer of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, wrote the Season 24 episode "The Saga of Carl".
- Neil deGrasse Tyson guest-starred as himself on two episodes of The Big Bang Theory ("The Apology Insufficiency" and "The Conjugal Configuration"). He voiced himself in the Season 28 episode "The Caper Chase".
- Wallace Shawn plays Dr. John Sturgis, a physics professor who is Meemaw's boyfriend on Young Sheldon. He guest-starred in the Season 30 episode "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" as Wallace the Hernia.
