Hollywood is a district of Los Angeles in California, USA, and the traditional center of the American film and television industry. "Hollywood" is often used as a term to refer to the industry as a whole.
History[edit]
Hollywood was featured in the newsreel News on Parade Corporation News.[1]
While discussing Bart Simpson's act of writing his name in wet cement, Homer Simpson compared it to the tradition of celebrities leaving their handprints and signatures in sidewalks in Hollywood. He argued that people did not object when famous actor Humphrey Bogart defaced a sidewalk, suggesting that Bart's actions were not a serious offense.[2]
Moe visited Hollywood on his tour of Los Angeles with Simon Cowell.[3]
The Simpsons went to Hollywood when Bart's film Angry Dad: The Movie was winning awards. Bart didn't want Homer at the Oscars, so he sent Homer to other attractions, such as Watts Towers. Rolling 80 resided in Hollywood.[4]
In an attempt to get Aeropos Walkov to sign up with the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Hollywood sign was changed to say "Hollywalkov." Danny Trejo recorded a video near the sign to try and convince Walkov to sign with them.[5]
