Adlai Stevenson II was an American politician and diplomat. He was the Democratic presidential nominee in 1952 and again in 1956, but lost both elections in a landside to Dwight D. Eisenhower.
History[edit]
Adlai Stevenson was in the educational filmstrip The Moon of Earth. The narrator said that "Democratic hopeful" Adlai Stevenson thought that man would walk on the Moon one day, and then cut to a clip of a press conference where Stevenson said that he had no objections to man walking on the Moon.
During the exhumation of Jebediah Springfield, Groundskeeper Willie throws a shovel full of dirt onto Adlai Stevenson II's headstone putting out its eternal flame.[1]
