Ms. York is the retired former principal of Springfield Middle School.

When Marge was in middle school, she accidentally dropped a soda can on the floor, which Ms. York tripped over, causing her to fall into a bin. After this incident, Marge became popular because she had pranked the principal. Marge then began pulling additional pranks on her, including attaching her shirt to the flagpole so her bra was revealed when the flag was raised.
Marge's pranks traumatized Ms. York for life. Years later, she saw Marge at the Springfield YMCA. Ms. York kept staring at Marge throughout the seniors shuffleboard match.
