Synopsis[edit]

Werner Herzog tells Marge and Lisa's future. Instead of going to college, Lisa goes straight into employment, which causes arguments between Marge and Lisa. Lisa goes on to create her own chain of schools, the Lisa Simpson Academy.

Plot[edit]

The Simpson family goes to Werner Herzog's Magic Shop to buy a magic set for Lisa's birthday. When Bart traps Homer in a straitjacket, Marge asks if they'll ever stop, to which Herzog offers to show them the future. He takes them to the back and reads their futures with tarot cards.

Lisa will become president, Homer will stop drinking, Bart will become a fine person, and there will be years of conflict between Marge and Lisa over her college decision.

On the day Lisa decides where to go, Bart declares his plan to become a master of Fruit Ninja, and Milhouse asks her to prom with the help of his father. Bart reminds Lisa how she spent every opportunity to have fun by studying instead, and she has been accepted to all colleges.

Marge organizes a family meeting to hear Lisa's decision, but Lisa reveals she isn't going to college at all, breaking Marge's expectations, which she had already prepared for, and soon they begin to argue.

Lisa gets advice from Ned and starts working at the Springfield Mall under the Squeaky-Voiced Teen's ownership. However, she soon realizes how awful the job is and shifts to teaching, founding the Lisa Simpson Academy across the United States. She runs for state school superintendent against Chalmers, and eventually for president.

On the day of her inauguration, Marge and Lisa are barely speaking. Bart is the CEO of a marijuana company and owns three NBA teams. He reminds Lisa that Marge was always there for her in every important moment, even if she didn't notice.

Marge comes to the roof, and with the help of a mother translator, they reconcile. Back in the present, Lisa asks Herzog how much of it will come true, and Nate Silver gives her a 98% chance of going to college, 83% chance of attending the Ivy League, 47% chance of a boyfriend, and 72% chance of a girlfriend. Homer asks if he can get a game on the oracle ball, but Nate tells him it's not a TV.

Production[edit]

It was previously called "Senior Moment" and had the production code QABF09, before it switched it with "Manger Things".[1]
