• The episode title can be a reference to The Beatles song "P.S. I Love You".
• The dollar store Dollar Troll is a parody of Dollar Tree, an American discount retail chain. The products being sold in the store include:
  • Hawaiian Paunch, a parody of the brand of juice Hawaiian Punch.
  • Government Cheese-Its, a parody of Cheez-It. A picture of Uncle Sam is on the box.
  • Loose Tylenol, a popular over-the-counter brand of pain reliever and fever reducer.
  • Scoff, a parody of Scott, a well-known brand of toilet paper now produced by Kimberly-Clark.
  • Brainy, a parody of Brawny, the brand of paper towels produced by Georgia-Pacific.
  • Mountain Doo is a parody of Mountain Dew.
• Reverend Lovejoy took Helen to a Josh Groban Canadian canal cruise.
• Among the trapped children, Shauna is reading The Banshee and the Bassist. The Banshee is a female spirit in Irish folklore.
