Rumpus room[edit]
The other room pages were all merged into the Evergreen Terrace page, so this one should be no exception. It isn't even a major room in the house. And there's really nothing you could add to the history section other than generic statements like "[character] was once seen doing [activity] in the rumpus room." --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 22:28, 13 December 2012 (EST)

- Is it possible that this store is actually the Springfield Grocery Store? -- Mythigator 04:38, 16 December 2012 (EST)
- It is possible and likely. Therefore there is even more reason for this page to be deleted. The Solar Dragon 04:51, 16 December 2012 (EST)
- Keep, but change the name: There are a lot of differences between the store and the grocery store: for example, the store has video games, while a grocery store wouldn't, the layout of the store is different to the grocery store (for example, the frozen section in the store is smaller than the frozen section in the grocery store), and the store has products that you normally wouldn't buy in a grocery store. So, no, I don't think the store is actually the grocery store. (And the outside is in fact seen right at the end of the commercial) ~ Phinbart (talk • contribs) 05:07, 16 December 2012 (EST)
- The outside is barely seen, advert locations differ from their normal locations in the show in some ways, this is an old advert where designs still hadn't been fully decided, there are video games in stores in America (in Las Vegas, you can even get slot machines in grocery stores). DELETE. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 06:34, 16 December 2012 (EST)
- Good point and good observations, Phin, but it wouldn't be at all unusual for a grocery store to make changes in its layout or in what sort of products it stocks. Also, in the course of trying to stay competetive with big outfits like Wal-Mart, grocery stores have had an increasing tendency towards stocking a little bit of everything. It seems to me that this article's information should be incorporated into Springfield Grocery Store and the article itself can be deleted. -- Mythigator 09:27, 16 December 2012 (EST)

- But it's against our notability policy. Therefore policy dictates that it should be deleted. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 15:05, 4 February 2013 (EST)
I agree that the article should be deleted. However, I suspect that there have been enough Peanuts references on the show to justify a Peanuts references article. If that is indeed the case, then the Schroeder look-a-like should definitely be included in it. -- Mythigator 13:23, 16 February 2013 (EST)
- Just as a note for the record, a Peanuts references article has now been created and it includes the boy that resembles Schroeder. -- Mythigator 00:59, 19 February 2013 (EST)
Guy Fawkes[edit]
Delete tag was placed on the page because he looks more like Shakespeare. On further inspection, I agree with this. The skull is also probably a reference to Shakespeare. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.)☆ 06:07, 16 February 2013 (EST)
- Agree. Out of curiosity, though, why did you put it as Guy Fawkes? --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 11:59, 16 February 2013 (EST)
It's Shakespeare for sure ...
- They've got a literary theme going with the characters making cameos ... Snape, Sherlock and Winston Churchill (who was an accomplished author in addition to serving as Prime Minister). Shakespeare fits right in with that theme, where Fawkes doesn't.
- The skull is a reference to the "Alas, poor Yorick" scene from Hamlet, which is one of the best-known (but also, alas, most often misquoted) scenes from Shakespeare's plays.
- The plotline of Love Actually (which Love, Indubitably parodies) comes off like one of Shakespeare's romantic comedies, which have the recurring motif of everyone getting paired off in the end. (If they were getting blown up, you could make a case for the man being Fawkes. :-P)
Plus, as Solar said, the man looks a lot more like Shakespeare than he does Fawkes. The Fawkes article should be deleted and its information incorporated (where appropriate) into the William Shakespeare article. -- Mythigator 13:18, 16 February 2013 (EST)
Eh... Oops. Sorry, I can't really tell the difference in cartoon form. I got Winston Churchill and Alfred Hitchcock mixed up as well, because I am bloody hopeless. Also, thank you to Mythigator for knowing a lot of references. :D --Fred (Talk • Contribs. • Editcount) 16:50, 16 February 2013 (EST)
"Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington" essays[edit]
Notability Do these really need to have their own articles, and do they meet the notability standards? It seems to me that we could include the essays on the episode's Quotes page, which needs a makeover anyway. -- Mythigator 13:56, 17 May 2013 (EDT)
- Yeah, I don't think these really need their own articles. They would be perfectly fine being on the quotes page. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 18:34, 17 May 2013 (EDT)
- I did a little more thinking about it, and I'm going to poke a hole in my own argument: I didn't get the same "not notable enough" vibe from Lisa's poem Meditations on Turning Eight, and I was trying to figure out why. Then I realized that it was because the poem was coming off like a song, and songs do meet our notability guidelines even if they're one-off items delivered in a practically throwaway fashion. By that reasoning, the essay articles SHOULD stay, since we have articles for songs that got a lot less air time than the essays. -- Mythigator 19:15, 17 May 2013 (EDT)

Yustin Beaver[edit]
This character (and most of the other wrestlers in the ¡Bart Speaks Spanish! comic story) doesn't actually appear, doesn't have any lines, and is only even mentioned in passing, i.e., name seen on a marquee sign. The pun on Justin Bieber is certainly worth mentioning on the References tab, but there's not enough information about this character to warrant creating an article. -- Mythigator 04:02, 7 July 2013 (EDT)

Allen Lanier[edit]
I hate deleting stuff, but I really think this is a stretch too far. Mr Lanier's article states that he "played the closing credits" of "The Parent Rap". But he didn't. He was a member of Blue Öyster Cult, and their song "Don't Fear the Reaper" was played over the end credits. But this was archive audio and neither he, nor the rest of the band, had any actual involvement in the episode. Notability policy states "All credited people should get an article," "Individual band members, even if they are not credited, should get an article," and "Uncredited crew members can get an article only if they are confirmed by a reliable source to have taken part in the episode." I don't believe Mr Lanier, or any other similar people who have articles classifying them as "guest stars" when they never produced anything for the show, and were not credited, meet any of these three criteria. Gran2 (talk) 11:17, October 2, 2013 (EDT)

- The Simpsons Comics are not well known, so a mention of something in just one story does not show its notability. Since this is the case, I believe all the pages (except if it has a notable role) on this article should be removed and incorporated into a list. In simple terms, yes. Same goes for the other articles Solar listed. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 23:25, March 24, 2014 (EDT)
- I agree with Gazlene, though if we make a page listing all the airplanes, then we can just merge it there or something. Keep for now. -- Webkinz ManiaTalkContributionsEditcount 08:02, March 25, 2014 (EDT)

Removalist[edit]
Like the bear actor from "The Call of the Simpsons", the Removalist plays too minor a role. Gazlene the Pork Girl (talk) 23:21, March 24, 2014 (EDT)

List of episodes with short or long titles[edit]
Is this really needed? Also, what would be the standards for "long" and "short"? With no standards, the article is just a bunch of fuzzy-logic judgement calls about the relative length (or brevity) of the episodes' titles. -- Mythigator (talk) 00:10, August 31, 2014 (EDT)

Bob Papenbrook[edit]
Papenbrook was, years ago, listed on IMDb as voicing a garbageman in City of New York vs Homer, despite never being credited or mentioned anywhere else. It felt strange then, especially as I don't remember a garbageman ever saying anything in the episode, but he got a page. Anyway, the credit is no longer on his IMDb, so there is now absolutely no evidence anywhere to support the claim he appeared on the show. Ergo, I think this page should be deleted. Barney & Friends[edit]
Only three references on the page at the moment and I don't think there's any more. 3 references is too few for a references article. The Solar Dragon 17:20, September 16, 2014 (EDT)
- Not sure, depends how many other references there are. | | Talk | Contributions | Edit count | 17:43, September 16, 2014 (EDT)
- I know... But I don't think there's any more. If I'm proved otherwise, I'll remove the template. The Solar Dragon 17:56, September 16, 2014 (EDT)
- Yeah, until it gets 5 references, it should be on a sandbox page instead of out in the mainspace. Is anyone willing to take "custody" of it while more references are tracked down? -- Mythigator (talk) 23:01, September 16, 2014 (EDT)
- Since I brought up the idea, I'll step up. I have copied the page to my sandbox so it can be populated with more references and then returned to the mainspace when it gets at least five. -- Mythigator (talk) 05:57, September 19, 2014 (EDT)
- I belatedly noticed that Randomno already copied it to his sandbox. I'll hang onto my sandbox copy for a while anyway. If two of us are working on it, it's got a better chance to get five references, and the copies can always be harmonized later if need be. -- Mythigator (talk) 06:02, September 19, 2014 (EDT)

Omni-Pay, Tri-City and Insta-Threat[edit]
All three are minor things, only mentioned in dialogue, and not a lot of information was given about them. The Solar Dragon 18:21, October 1, 2014 (EDT)

List of invisibility[edit]
Not ready for prime time. It shouldn't be in the mainspace until it is ready. The article has formatting issues, and how relevant is the invisibility angle anyway? The article needs more information to justify its existence. -- Mythigator (talk) 22:02, October 19, 2014 (EDT)
- I just added the delete template to the page and came here to suggest just this. DELETE! The Solar Dragon 14:58, October 20, 2014 (EDT)
- You saying that the article is against notability policy? I hope Solar's answer. --Barthony70099 Eat my shorts! Ay Caramba! 15:02, October 20, 2014 (EDT)
- Whilst it's not actually in the notability policy, I don't think this happens frequently enough in the series, nor is it a running gag, nor are people really bothered about invisibility in the show. Therefore, it's unnotable to me and not worth a space on the wiki. The Solar Dragon 15:11, October 20, 2014 (EDT)

The Simpsons School Kit[edit]
Is this really notable? The Solar Dragon 07:11, May 26, 2015 (EDT)
- What if we just had a page for random, un-notable merch like this? Just a table with an image, and what the product is or something? Because I agree that these items really have no reason to have their own, teensy-tiny pages that will never be added to. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 19:07, June 3, 2015 (EDT)
- I agree with Nick97. We should create a page for "random, un-notable merch like this". It's a great idea. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 19:24, June 3, 2015 (EDT)
- Question where do we draw the line on notability of merch pages? There are many other pages similar to this. —Fred (Talk • Contribs.) 03:28, June 4, 2015 (EDT)
- There's the million-dollar question, haha. What if we just put all the stubs together on such a page, and if any one of them happens to somehow gain enough information to actually warrant it's own page then we could take it off? Merchandise is such a hard thing to write articles for because almost all of them will be stubs, but I feel like a table would be a great way to categorize it all on a single page. Heck, if it starts getting too big, we could always break it off into separate tables based on type of merchandise (toys, stationary, whatever) --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 11:14, June 4, 2015 (EDT)

All Marathons[edit]
They're just not notable in my opinion. Only shown in one part of the world. Not much information about them. The Solar Dragon 08:54, June 21, 2015 (EDT)
- Well, there should be a "Simpsons Marathons" page with some info about them. Articles for each one seems a bit unnecessary, that's true. Also, I would at least save the Every.Simpsons.Ever. page, that is the only one that could deserve its own article. / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 13:58, June 21, 2015 (EDT)
- Every. Simpsons. Ever. should be the only exception. That was a huge, worldwide publicized marathon of every episode. Definitely notable. And the Twitter for it is still active today. I don't even think we should have an article about marathons in general. They're just blocks of episodes played one after the other. Nothing too special about them. The Solar Dragon 16:12, June 21, 2015 (EDT)
- I agree with Solar here. Even having one page listing marathons seems kinda pointless. I mean, what use would that info even be? Maybe if it was a marathon that happened every year or something, but tv channels play marathons of random shows all the time. It doesn't really feel notable or interesting enough to me. --Nick97 (talk ~ contribs) 20:36, June 21, 2015 (EDT)

Barney & Friends[edit]
If it has less than 5 references it should not get a page, right? / Loco87 (TALK / Contribs) 06:39, July 22, 2015 (EDT)
- That is correct. Mythigator also has a page for it in his userspace. The Solar Dragon 07:15, July 22, 2015 (EDT)
