Wikisimpsons:Article Development

Wikisimpsons - The Simpsons Wiki
This page is actively undergoing a major edit for a short while. To help avoid edit conflicts, please do not edit this page while this message is displayed.

This page describes the stages in the life of an article, and lists the ways in which you can help an article grow into the next stage.

Stages of an article[edit]

Stubs[edit]

A stub is a very short article, often a paragraph or less, containing an insufficient amount of information. You can help Wikisimpsons by finding stubs and editing them. A complete list of stubs can be found at Category:Stubs.
If you create an article that is a stub, please put this at the end of the article: {{stub}}. Doing so will display this message:

Homer-simpson.png This article is a stub. You can help Wikisimpsons by embiggening it.

There is also a template for Character stubs and Episode Stubs. You can add them by typing {{Character stub}} and {{Episode stub}}

resulting in:

Homer Simpson.png This article about a Simpsons character is a stub. You can help Wikisimpsons by embiggening it.

and

The Simpsons TV.png This article about a Simpsons episode is a stub. You can help Wikisimpsons by embiggening it.

All pages with these messages are automatically categorized as stubs.

Good ways to find and grow stubs:

If you saw an article with the stub template, but the article is developed well beyond stub status, please feel free to remove the tag. If the article is much longer than a stub but still incomplete, rather than marking it as a stub, please add the {{incomplete}} template to the beginning of the article.
