Who the Bartman? is a Bart Simpson comic story first printed in Bart Simpson #81.
Synopsis[edit]
- The children of Springfield Elementary School discuss who they think Bartman really is.
Plot[edit]
Principal Skinner has a boysenberry pie explode in the oven during home economics class, with the resulting mess making him look similar to Bartman. When Bart disputes Skinner looking like Bartman, the other kids tell their versions of who they think Bartman is.
Nelson says that Bartman was bred to be the ultimate super soldier, but he rebelled against the scientist who created him. He has claws infused with "Bartamantium", the strongest metal known to man. If Bartman catches someone stealing, he will scare them into giving up. Nelson's version of Bartman is also his father, who tells Nelson to tell everyone that his father just went out for a pack of cigarettes to maintain his cover.
Sherri and Terri dispute this, saying that they know what Bartman really looks like. They say that Bartman is a true gentleman superhero who blinds criminals with the light of his luminous, diamond-like skin. He has the soul of a poet and a fortress of brooding. Nelson and Bart laugh at this version of Bartman.
Ralph then tells everyone that he knows what Mr. Grape Ravioli looks like too. He then shows them a piece of ravioli with grape jelly on it, vaguely resembling Bartman. While the kids keep discussing Bartman, Bart sneaks away and comes back dressed as Bartman. The other kids think his costume is lame and embarrassing, then go back to discussing who Bartman really is. Bart says that his secret is safe with these kids.
