Shotgun Pete's is a 24-hour wedding chapel just over the state line where Homer and Marge got married. Weddings cost $20, photos cost $50.

Homer and Marge arrived at the chapel just as Cletus and Aline were getting married. Straight after the marriage, the minister called for the next couple, who were Homer and Marge. They walked along the aisle, while Doris Troy played "Bridal Chorus" on a synthesizer.[1]

Behind the Laughter[edit]

In the early drafts of the script it was named Lucky 7 Wedding Chapel which is what it is named in The Simpsons Uncensored Family Album.

The name is a play on shotgun wedding, an expression for a hurried wedding because of the bride's pregnancy, and the real life casino Whiskey Pete's in Primm, Nevada right on the state line with California. The casino complex also has the Bonnie and Clyde death car as a permanent exhibit.[2]
