Synopsis[edit]

Plot[edit]
At 3 a.m. in the morning, Bart is watching a John Wick movie when he hears a car crash outside. Upon realizing that the family are getting up to investigate, he rushes back upstairs and pretends that he just woke up to see what the noise was. As everyone gathers outside, the other mothers mock Marge's robe, which is damaged, worn down, and tied together with a charging cable. After the other mothers reveal that they got their robes as birthday presents, Marge tells them that she gets hand made presents from the kids. Meanwhile, Kirk almost steps on a live wire from the crash, only for Homer to save him. Homer then signs up to Alarmist where he posts a video about the wire. Upon realizing that his name is bottom of the leaderboard, Comic Book Guy tells him that he needs to report more threats to get higher.
The next day, Bart is making a birthday present for Marge, which is a hand turkey with macaroni glued to it. Lisa tells Bart that they need to get Marge a proper present this year so they get money from Ned Flanders to buy Marge a new robe. When they go to Bullseye, they find the robe but then knock a Junior Operative Spy Kit to the floor. Bart and Lisa both decide that they want the Spy Kit, but Lisa insists on buying the robe. When Lisa finds out that they can get a free ironing board cover for applying for a Bullseye credit card, she ditches the robe and decides to get Marge the ironing board cover so they can have the Spy Kit.
On Marge's birthday, Marge opens up her presents and is disappointed to get two ironing board covers. Marge acts happy about the presents anyway, leaving the kids feeling accomplished. However, Marge is actually disappointed, especially as she already had the same ironing board cover. Bart and Lisa then play with their new spy kit. Meanwhile, Homer rises up the leaderboard on Alarmist until he breaks into the top five after reporting fake issues. Back at Bart's treehouse, Bart and Lisa are using the eavesdropper to listen in on conversations when they hear a conversation between Marge and Ned. Marge starts crying after she says that she's disappointed in the presents and doesn't feel seen as a person. Bart and Lisa then realize that they messed up and must do better.
When Homer is out identifying more "threats", he tries to upload a video of a broken sprinkler, which he claims could cause a sinkhole. However, he finds that someone called Silver Bullet already reported that threat, who turns out to be Agnes Skinner. Back at home, Bart and Lisa try and come up with a list of things that they know about their mother, only coming up with her real name is "Margaret". They then use the Spy Kit to break into Marge's memories box and find that her name is actually "Marjorie", and that she used to have a parrot called Petey. Bart and Lisa then figure out that Petey was taken away by someone in North Townsburg and decide to go there to find him. They go to Art's Auto Service where Vince tells them that Krista owns the bird. Back in Springfield, Homer and Agnes start fighting over reporting everything as a threat in the park. Eventually, a sinkhole opens up next to the broken sprinkler, leading to both of them falling into it.
At Krista's Krafts, Bart and Lisa find out that Petey had escaped from his cage and joined a flock of wild parrots in town. Feeling sad about failing to find Petey again, they go back to the bus stop where they hear Petey in a nearby tree. They lure him down using a recording of Marge's voice and trap him in the case of the Spy Kit before taking him back to Springfield. In the sinkhole, Homer and Agnes continue to argue until Agnes starts to choke on some candy. Homer saves her and feels proud of having done so, realizing that this is what he wanted all along, not being on top of a leaderboard. Homer helps Agnes out of the sinkhole and she leaves, telling Homer that she'll get someone to help him out. At home, Bart and Lisa show Petey off to Marge, who starts to panic as Petey attacks her. Marge tells the kids that Petey shows affection by grooming her and regurgitating on her, and he was given away because he was a terror who was possessive of Marge. Bart and Lisa feel bad about this as they just wanted to reunite Marge with her childhood friend. When Marge realizes the lengths the kids went to get her a good gift, she thanks the two of them and tells them that they're going to take Petey back to North Townsburg.
At 3 a.m. another night, the sound of a car crash wakes up everyone in the neighborhood again. As everyone comes out to not find anything, the mothers notice Marge's new robe, which Bart and Lisa bought her. She shows it off to them, but everyone's confused about not seeing anything that would have caused the noise. Bart and Lisa are then revealed to have used the distraction generator from the Spy Kit to cause the noise and they and Marge use the watch walkie-talkies to say that the mission was accomplished.
