History[edit]
During the auction of Krusty’s belongings, lot number 66 was a handmade leather suitcase that had been carried by the Krustofsky family when they arrived at Ellis Island in 1902. The auctioneer described it as a priceless family heirloom and an important piece of Krustofsky family history. However, Selma bought the suitcase for only 40 cents. Krusty was shocked by the low price and complained that his grandfather Zev would be turning in his grave.[1]
Groundskeeper Willie remembered the time he immigrated to the USA and came through Ellis Island. He was given the name "Groundskeeper Willie" here.[2]
