Donkey Kong is a video game character.

History

Donkey Kong was one of four video game characters to convince Bart to steal a video game.

He was once seen where the Noiseland Arcade had him meeting kids on Fridays (at least, this was what was advertised, as he didn't seem to meet anyone), and he was smoking a cigarette when Wiseguy passed by and stated that he was "just not a draw anymore." Donkey Kong responded by throwing a barrel at him, causing him to realize that Donkey Kong "still got it."

During the song "High to Be Loathed", Mr. Burns mentioned Donkey Kong and made his shadow, among lots of other villains.

Mario and Donkey Kong appeared at Hudson's house, with Mario working on the plumbing, Mario's job, and Donkey Kong throwing barrels at him, his main attack from the original arcade game.

Grampa said that he fell for Agnes Skinner in the 1980s like Mario over a thousand Donkey Kong barrels.

A blue version of Donkey Kong appeared in the video game Donkey Kong.

Donkey Kong kidnapped Professor Frink, and Bart and Lisa had to chase him and use Mario-style transport pipes to get to him. His fighting arena was modeled after one of the stages from the Donkey Kong video game from the 1980s. He was blown into a sea of green fluid, and as he died his hand showed a thumbs up.

Behind the Laughter

Donkey Kong is a fictional gorilla character who was created by Nintendo in 1981. His having his thumbs up while sinking is a parody of the Terminator movies.
