In a World War II combat incident, Asa was preparing to throw a live grenade while serving in D Company when he briefly named several comrades, including Bob, who was from Brooklyn.

During the opening session of Krusty the Clown's clown academy, one of the recruits identified himself as being from Brooklyn while students introduced their hometowns before being assigned regional territories.
