Rodan is a Japanese movie monster.
History[edit]
In Lisa's daydream, she imagined a possible future in which her life was ruined by a failing grade in gym class. In this fantasy, she was publicly disqualified from becoming President of the United States after it was revealed that she had once received an F in physical education. As punishment, she was sentenced to a lifetime of exile on "Monster Island," a supposedly terrifying place inhabited by giant monsters. Creatures such as Gamera, Rodan, and Mothra were shown roaming the island, which was overrun with fire-breathing beasts, emphasizing the absurdity of the imagined punishment.[1]
When the Simpsons leave Tokyo Rodan attacks their plane, alongside Godzilla, Mothra and Gamera.[2]
The Singing hobo told an edited version of the story of Paul Bunyan. In the story Paul Bunyan and Babe fought Rodan.[3]
Behind the Laughter[edit]
- Rodan is a character in the Godzilla films, though he originally appeared in his own solo movie.
- In "Simpsons Tall Tales" Rodan is given Godzilla's roar.
