Gunsmoke

Gunsmoke was a 1955-1975 American radio and television western drama series. It was notable for being the longest-running U.S. TV series (in prime time) for many decades, until The Simpsons broke their record on 27 April 2018.

Picture Season Episode number Episode name Reference 28 600 "Treehouse of Horror XXVII" Al Jean is credited as "Al 'You're Next Gunsmoke' Jean". 29 632 "Fears of a Clown" Gunsmoke characters can be seen at the Museum of Television. 635 "Lisa Gets the Blues" Homer, Lisa and Bart eat beignet at Cafe Du Monde, and Homer says, that the next episode will beat Gunsmoke. 636 "Forgive and Regret" The opening sequence is a parody of Gunsmoke, this was done to celebrate the fact that The Simpsons had beaten their longevity record as the longest-running U.S. TV sitcom of all time. 642 "My Way or the Highway to Heaven" Ned Flanders mentions Gunsmoke and a short clip is shown of it on TV.
