Cultural references
- The episode title is a reference to the film Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
- The entrance hall carpet in The Henry L. Waterpark Mansion and Museum is a reproduction of one that Mr. Waterpark saw on a trip to Utrecht in the Netherlands.
- The snow globes include:
- Mr. Pibbb, spelled with three "B"s, is a a parody of Mr. Pibb, a real soft drink created by The Coca-Cola Company.
- Gaelic Scrabble is a parody of Scrabble and uses real Scottish Gaelic words, altough double score words are written in English.
- Hub is based on Neil and his father is based on Neil's father from the movie Dead Poets Society. Kurtwood Smith voiced both Hub and Neil's father. Kurtwood was suggested by Michael Price based on their early work together on F Is for Family.[1][2]
- Chalmers tells Skinner that the state will turn the school into a Spirit Halloween store if they find out that Hub has been squatting in the school.
- Hub tells Skinner that his parents died when their hot-air balloon drifted over to North Korea on Kim Jong-un's birthday and was hit by a celebratory ICBM.
- Hub calls Skinner, Darth Tedious, a reference to Darth Sidious from Star Wars.
- Hub tells Nelson that his parents died on the RMS Titanic.
- Skinner buys his clothes at Mr. Ho-Hum's Clothiers from the Chuck Schumer collection.

- In the car, Hub barks along to the Christmas song "Jingle Bells".
- Skinner tells Hub that he's talented, then says "look out, Perry Como." Hub then says that he likes how Skinner knows people he's never heard of, and Skinner says "spoken like a young Mort Sahl."

- Skinner plays a Meet the Press pinball machine. The machine has a parody of the NBC logo on it.
- A Peter Rabbit-themed musical is held at Springfield Elementary School. Hub got a role as Farmer McGregor while Martin plays Peter Rabbit.
