"Treehouse of Horror XXXVI" is the third episode of broadcast season 37 of The Simpsons and the seven hundred ninety-third episode overall. It originally aired on October 19, 2025. The episode was written by Broti Gupta, Michael Price and Dan Greaney, and directed by Matthew Faughnan. It guest stars Ike Barinholtz as Wayne the Grip, Viola Davis as the Narrator, Idris Elba as the Devil, and Michael Keaton as Hal Julian.
Synopsis
- In this year's installment of the annual fright-fest, the town is menaced by a mysterious murdering monster from out of the sewers, Krusty has a demonic special guest on his live Halloween special, and we go a thousand years into Springfield's poseable plastic post-apocalyptic future.
Plot
America the Beautiful
A family is outside their house happily celebrating Halloween, when it starts raining, and they see a werewolf representing trade wars, Frankenstein's Monster representing pronouns, and Death representing measles outbreak. They run inside to hide from them and watch the only place safe in America, network television, switching on The Simpsons. Outside the window, Matt Groening is happy, wearing a shirt representing series-creactor sickos.
