FABF HABF

GABF is the seventeenth production season of The Simpsons. Al Jean served as the showrunner for the season. The episodes mostly aired in broadcast season 16 on Fox, with seven rollover episodes from the production season airing in broadcast season 17. The episodes aired from January 30, 2005 with "Mommie Beerest", to November 27, 2005 with "The Last of the Red Hat Mamas".

Moe's Tavern is closed by a health inspector, so Homer takes out a mortgage on his house to reopen the bar. As a result, Marge becomes Moe's business partner and turns the bar into a British-style pub. This leads to Marge and Moe spending too much time together, which worries Homer.

Homer starts to teach sports players his obnoxious celebration dances and gets placed in charge of the halftime show of the next Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Ned creates a violent film about Bible stories, which makes Marge angry, so she tries to put a stop to him.

Homer and Marge don't let Bart go to a rap concert, so he sneaks out to attend anyway. When Bart is discovered to be missing, he tells his parents he was kidnapped. However, when Chief Wiggum believes the kidnapper is Kirk Van Houten, Bart wrestles with his guilty conscience about coming clean.

Due to a tourism slump in town, Springfield legalizes same-sex marriage. However, with Reverend Lovejoy refusing to officiate any ceremonies between people of the same gender, Homer steps up to officiate the weddings. The whole family is surprised when Patty reveals that she wants to get married to a woman.

Lisa becomes fed up with Bart's teasing and takes out a restraining order against him. While both siblings enjoy this at first, it begins to take its toll on them. Meanwhile, Homer takes a job as a Sprawl-Mart greeter.

When Selma starts to go through menopause, she decides to adopt a child so she doesn't grow old alone. She decides to adopt a baby from China, but they only allow married couples to adopt. After putting down Homer's name as her spouse, the Simpsons go to China, with Homer and Selma pretending to be a couple.

When Homer is rejected for life insurance, Marge becomes worried that he may die at any minute and starts to put money away. Angry that he can't spend his money, Homer spends what Marge has saved on an RV. Marge's anger at this decision is only made worse when Homer invites a convoy of RVers to live at his house.

After the town enforces new laws, Homer gets arrested for kicking the same beer can five times. He is sent to the new state prison, where he becomes a prison snitch. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa investigate why Snowball has been gaining weight.

When Bart is expelled from Springfield Elementary, Marge enrolls him in St. Jerome's Catholic School. However, when both Bart and Homer start to be swayed by the ways of Catholicism, Marge goes to Reverend Lovejoy and Ned Flanders for help.

After a storm hits Springfield, the roof of the Simpsons' house begins to leak. Homer then befriends roofer Ray Magini, who helps repair the roof and becomes good friends with Homer. However, when his friends and family don't recall ever seeing Homer with Ray, they start to think he's going crazy. Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa take Santa's Little Helper to the Retirement Castle to make the residents happier.

Bart gets addicted to junk food when vending machines are added to Springfield Elementary, to the point where he's admitted to a fat camp to make him lose weight. Meanwhile, the rest of the family convert the house into a youth hostel to pay the bills for Bart's treatment.

When Bart and Lisa stumble into Professor Frink's basement, he gives them a look into their future as teenagers as they get ready for their high school graduation. After hearing about the rapture, Homer calculates that the end of the world is coming in only one week. But when the townspeople see that he's wrong, they stop listening to him. When Homer realizes he made a mistake in his calculation, he can't get anybody to take him seriously the second time.

After a protest against construction happening on Evergreen Terrace, the construction gets swapped with the Springfield Cemetery, which Lisa can now see from her bedroom window. Nightmares cause Lisa sleepless nights, and she starts to sleep with her parents. Lisa is then admitted to therapy to help her get over her fears.

In "B.I.: Bartificial Intelligence", after Bart falls into a coma, the family gets a new robot son, David. But when Bart wakes up, he's not happy about being replaced. In "Survival of the Fattest", Mr. Burns invites many of the townspeople to go hunting, but unbeknownst to them, they're the prey being hunted. In "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face", a witch turns everyone in Springfield into their costumed characters, and Maggie, being dressed as a witch, is the only one who can break the spell.

After falling into debt with the Springfield Mafia, Fat Tony takes payment in the form of using his house as a set for a porn film. When Marge finds out, she leaves Homer and meets up with scientist Caleb Thorn. Homer and the kids then track Marge down so he can win her back.

When Kirk and Luann get back together again, Milhouse starts to feel neglected by his parents. So, Bart and Milhouse leave one of Marge's bras on Kirk and Luann's bed in an attempt to break them up again, which leads to Homer questioning Marge's loyalty to him.

When Marge buys a tandem bicycle, she finds that nobody wants to ride with her, until Bart notices that she's feeling lonely and offers to join her. However, when Bart actually enjoys spending time with his mom, he becomes labeled a "momma's boy" and breaks Marge's heart when he stops spending time with her.

Homer becomes the Springfield Elementary School's "Safety Salamander" to make amends and stop Lisa's frustrations against men. After he saves many drivers from a multiple car crash, the Safety Salamander runs for mayor. But Homer soon finds out that people only care about the costume, not the man inside it.

While wanting to make new friends, Marge meets Tammy, who is a member of the Cheery Red Tomatoes. However, Marge's new friend group surprises her when they plan to rob Mr. Burns. Meanwhile, Lisa learns Italian from Milhouse so she can go to Italy on an educational trip.
