Cultural references[edit]
- The title is a reference to 1967 Swedish film I Am Curious (Yellow), notorious for its sexual content.
- Pictures in the Springfield Speakers Bureau include those of Walter Mondale, Marvin Hamlisch, Mark Fuhrman, he former President of Procter & Gamble, Joyce Brothers, and Maya Angelou.
- In "Danger Dog", Danger Dog says he has a date with "Sarah Jessica Barker" referring to Sarah Jessica Parker. The plot of the cartoon also references Danger Mouse and Underdog.
- When Stan Lee shows up, Comic Book Guy says that his heart is pounding like Thor's hammer on Doctor Doom's titanium-infused face-plate.
- Stan Lee asks if Comic Book Guy was the person who was stalking Lynda Carter.
- Stan Lee says that his "Spidey sense is tingling", a reference to Spider-Man and one of his catchphrases.
- When Stan Lee insults Comic Book Guy, Comic Book Guy says that in Bizarro World that means Stan Lee likes him.
- When Bart is trying to come up with an idea for a comic book, he sees:
- Homer sees an advert for a TV show called When Dinosaurs Get Drunk, a parody of When Animals Attack!.
- After the When Dinosaurs Get Drunk ad, a program called The Boring World of Niels Bohr comes on. The opening image is of the scientist himself, and an expanded version of the Bohr model of the atom.
- Comic Book Guy calls Bart's pencilling "sub-Ziggy".
- Stan Lee shoves a figure of The Thing into Database's Batmobile toy.
- After breaking Database's Batmobile, Stan Lee starts to hum the "Spider-Man" theme song.
- When Todd Linux tells Bart that he wants to make Angry Dad into an Internet cartoon, Bart says that he'll be in cyberspace next to the Nabisco cookie website.
- Bin Laden in a Blender is a parody of the viral web animation "Frog in a Blender" from Joe Cartoon.
- Lou Rawls: Secret Agent features an animated Lou Rawls in a trenchcoat trying to escape from a trap.
- The voice actor for play Angry Dad is a caricature of (and voiced by) Simpsons voice actor Dan Castellaneta.
- When Krusty asks his assistant to book the animal that always chomps on his groin, his assistant asks if he meant Susan Anton.
- The way Angry Dad's head bursts is the same as Arnold Schwarzenegger's head swells in the movie Total Recall when he's on the planet with no atmosphere.
- Bart asks Homer if he'd like to be played by John Goodman in an Angry Dad movie. Homer then says that it should be Gary Oldman.
- Ned sings "Rise and Shine", a Christian children's song.
- Homer sings "Mellow Yellow" by Donovan when he tries to control his anger.
- When Stan Lee sees Homer looking like The Hulk, he says that he's the Hulk and starts to rip his clothes off.

- In Springfield Elementary School, the fire alarm tone is a bell. Most schools in the United States do not use bells for fire alarms. They usually use a buzzer or a high-pitched beeping tone, and some modern schools use a voice-evacuation message over a speaker system. However, bells for fire alarms are more commonly found in Canada.
- Homer says he is passionate "..Like all us Greek" implying he is of Greek origin.
Continuity[edit]
- While watching When Dinosaurs Go Drunk, where a drunken stegosaurus is depicted stumbling into a tar pit, Homer claims, "Boy, I've been there." In "Bart Gets an Elephant", Homer got trapped in a tar pit.
- "Angry Dad: The Movie" is a sequel to this episode.
- Rod and Todd Flanders are seen in Springfield Elementary, despite not going there at the time.
- Ralph is seen in Bart's class, despite being in the second grade.
- When Homer gets out of the cacti on the 'Trap' scene, he has 2 boils on his neck but just before he approaches the dirty diapers, they disappear.
