Mona Flanders (née Godd) is the mother of Ned Flanders and the wife of Nedward Flanders Sr. She is a beatnik. A much younger Mona Flanders is seen when she and her husband bring Ned to Dr. Foster. Due to her advanced age, it seems likely that Mona is dead by the 'current' Simpsons timeline. However, Ned mentions that Rod and Todd do still have at least one living grandmother. It is not clear however if this is in reference to Mona, or to Maude's mother.
In the episode "Marge Gamer", Flanders says "Homer, you met my parents", so they are probably alive.
