Mr. Stokes is a character in the Harvest of Fear comics.
History[edit]
In the story "A Fine Broth of a Boy", Mr. Stokes had gone to the comic stores in town and bought every comic book they had. A couple of kids wanted to buy comics and went to see if Officer Carey had seen the man who bought them all. Officer Carey identified him as Mr. Stokes, who had just moved into the old Grandville Place. One of the kids went to see him and asked if he would be willing to sell him some comics. Mr. Stokes invited him into his house and took him to a room where he revealed that the comics were bait for "new friends." The kid screamed, but it is not known what happened to him after.
