He was announced as a "gay robot from Star Wars" in a wrestling match with R2-D2 against the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica. He was getting beaten badly. He then asked R2 to save him, but R2 went away instead, causing C-3PO to state that he hated him.[1]
Someone also dressed up as C-3PO at a sci-fi convention.[2]
C-3PO appeared on the poster for Star Wars Episode VII: The Apology.[3]
A figure of C-3PO was in Comic Book Guy's apartment.[4]
