He auditioned for the role of Mr. Burns in the film A Burns for All Seasons.[1]

The narrator for Behind the Laughter said that The Simpsons had been started on a wing and a prayer, but now the wing was on fire and the prayer had been answered by Satan. Satan was then seen dancing and laughing next to a fire.[2]

When Homer went to Hell, he was given noogies by the Devil. When Homer started screaming, the Devil told him to be quiet or he'd wake up John Wayne.[3]

Marge asked God why he couldn't just put everything back the way it was. God said that he could, but the big man downstairs wouldn't like it. The devil then appeared and told God to get him a coffee. Maude Flanders then appeared and asked the devil to go back to bed with her.[4]

His picture was on the Burns family tree.[5]
