Synopsis
- Set in the near future, Marge is competently coping with the hormonal onslaught hitting her now teenage kids when she's suddenly struck by a big life change of her own, leaving Homer as the last sane person in the house... or is he?
Plot
The morning after Marge's 43th birthday, the Simpsons family is having breakfast, with Homer worried about his teenager children coming down the stairs due to the sounds and the sweat breaking him. Marge asks him how the wedding wows for Ned are going, as he's writing them, then Lisa and Bart comes down, with Lisa complaining for the acne and other problems of puberty, and Bart asking for more as his appetite is big, Marge having trouble keeping up with it.
When Bart goes to pick up chili pointed out by Homer, he's too short to reach it and Lisa grabs them, laughing at how shorter he's. He then grabs the key wanting to drive to school, wanting to learn how to not guilt people if they don't let him practice, and Maggie tries to intervene, when Marge stops her because she's still recovering from her laryngitis. She tells her how he drives weakly and people insult him and show him the middle finger when he does. He then reluctantly gives back the keys.
Marge is driving Lisa and Maggie, with Lisa arguing about her being chosen to perform at Ned's wedding, with Marge pointing out how much she loved performing with her sax, showing her a video on her phone of when she was little, but she doesn't want to do it cause everyone's eyes would be on her. When Lisa gets off, Marge reminds to give her a "Welcome to womanhood" bag in case she has her first period at school.
Afterwards, Marge joins the other moms to talk about perimenopause. Luann then takes out facial fillers to look younger, and Marge is not sure about them and leaves when she notices she's the only one disagreeing. At night, Marge rearrenges the whole living room, before reaching for Bart's backpack that contains the book Robot Kaiju Honor Battle. Noticing what it contains she voices her concern to Homer on Bart reading it, but Homer says it's normal for boys to read them.
Later, Homer meets Ned and his fiance Pam, asking for how the wows are going, and notes down an aneddoct on how Ned saved her at a Mardi gras. At work, Homer is reading Magazine Magazine, when he gets a phone call, Marge is at Sprawl-Mart burning up and having been in the freezer for half an hour, thinking she's experiencing her perimenopause.
At breakfast, Marge gets stressed by the kids complaining and Homer saves the moment with a soothing voice and telling them what they're experiencing at the moment, calming them. At the Foot Swamp store, Marge tries to buy shoes for Maggie that don't exist, and meets Artie Zif, which for once doesn't feel anything towards her, due to the wrinkles he sees between her eyebrows. Due to this, she goes back to Luann to get the Botox injections, but gets seen by Lisa passing by and argues with her about what she talked about the changes she's having.
