Plot

The Simpson family is getting ready for a day full of doctor visits, a boring day, but Bart points out to Lisa that they're going to be the stars of a "Mom-and-Dad in-car bait-and-switch" video, where parents tell kids they're going to a boring place, then reveal in the car that they're actually going somewhere fun—a new trend on social media.

However, when they get to the destination, they find out that they're not at Krustyland but at the Springfield Medical Plaza for a year's worth of check-ups in one day. After the check-ups are complete, Bart and Lisa ask to be taken for a treat, and they go to the Boba Fete Tea Shop, where they buy some tea. The Squeaky-Voiced Teen asks for a tip at the register, which Homer reluctantly gives.

The same thing happens at other shops, and it exhausts Homer. He cheers up when they go to the Springfield Pub & Brewery, where they charge a service fee and ask for a tip as well. Homer clicks the pen and refuses to tip more than $1, but writes down "$1 OK!", which Sandee mistakes for $10,000. Since the family doesn't have $10,000 to pay, Homer imagines himself destroying the bill and getting attacked by other shop owners. In reality, he simply underlines the tip and they carry him triumphantly over their shoulders, while Marge groans.

At home, Marge points out how the event went viral and that they're going to be in debt for the rest of their lives. Homer goes back to the pub, but the popularity gets to him—people stop him in the streets, he overpays at the newsstand, and he goes on a tipping spree. Back at home, however, Marge is waiting for him, very angry, as she received all the notifications of his spree. Homer promises her he'd stop, but at Moe's, he does the same thing again, encouraged by Moe.

However, instead of asking for the bill to be reduced, he tries to flirt with her. Sandee sprays pepper spray in his eyes and slams the door. He then goes underwater, risking drowning, but is saved by Fausto in Little Europe. Homer is not answering Marge’s calls, so Patty and Selma suggest she take pictures for a dating profile on Tender.
