"Treehouse of Horror XXXVI" is the third episode of broadcast season 37 of The Simpsons and the seven hundred ninety-third episode overall. It originally aired on October 19, 2025. The episode was written by Broti Gupta, Michael Price and Dan Greaney, and directed by Matthew Faughnan. It guest stars Ike Barinholtz as Wayne the Grip, Viola Davis as the Narrator, Idris Elba as the Devil, and Michael Keaton as Hal Julian.

They run inside to hide from them and watch the only place safe in America, network television, switching on The Simpsons. Outside the window, Matt Groening is happy, wearing a shirt representing series-creactor sickos.
