Cultural references[edit]

• The episode title is a reference to the TV series The White Lotus. The episode's plot parodies elements from the HBO series, mainly it's second season, including the mystery surrounding a dead body floating by the beach and the Sicilian-inspired setting.
  • The opening titles are a parody of The White Lotus' season 2 opening. It includes art references, mainly classicism, such as:
    • Moe as a centaur playing a lyre.
    • Legs, Louie and Frankie the Squealer stabbing Quimby, parodying the assassination of Julius Caesar.
    • The faces of Krusty and Sideshow Mel representing the comedy and tragedy masks.
    • Patty and Selma are the Lernaean Hydra
    • Maggie is Cupid
    • Homer and Marge are Adam and Eve.
  • The song mentions Ozempic, an anti-obesity medication.
• After being touched by a dead body, Homer prays to Baywatch to save him.
• Homer once signed a lifetime contract with Spectrum cable, an American telecommunications and mass media company.
• "The Waiting" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is heard when Marge asks when they could use the timeshare.

Maggie steals a Toblerone chocolate bar

• Maggie eats, and later steals, a Toblerone chocolate bar.
• When arriving to the resort Tasha is given a Swedish massage even though she ordered a shiatsu.
• Tasha's luggage is branded with "YL" in a similar manner to the iconic "LV" from Louis Vuitton.
• Homer asks if what Tasha is doing is why Americans defeated Nazi zombies in Call of Duty: World at War.
• Homer tells Marge that he loves it when she breaks bad, a reference to Breaking Bad.
• A painting of Julius Caesar is seen in the luggage room.
• Marge reads My Name Is Barbra, the autobiography of Barbra Streisand, while Tasha has the audiobook version of it. The book is considerably large, spanning 970 pages, while the audiobook, which was read by the author, exceeds 48 hours.
• The name of the arcade game Triangle Wars has the font of Star Wars.
• Sideshow Bob plays and sings "Killing Her Softly with My Words", a parody of "Killing Me Softly with His Song".
• Homer is wearing a Gucci swimsuit.
• Sideshow Bob sings "A Wand'ring Minstrel I", a song from The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan.
• The drugged otter's name, "Oxy Otter", references oxycodone, a commonly abused drug. It's also a reference to the Cocaine Bear, a bear that overdosed on cocaine.
• The ending song gives the example of Fantasy Island, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Lord of the Flies when referring to rich people acting despicably.

Continuity[edit]

• In the opening titles, Bart is sawing the head off a Barney statue. ("The Telltale Head")
• The clothes worn by the family are the same as the ones in "A Totally Fun Thing That Bart Will Never Do Again".
• Marge mentions the time Sideshow Bob married Selma, wondering if he's trying to black widow Tasha. ("Black Widower")
• Homer and Marge hide in the bushes in the same way as Homer did previously. ("Homer Loves Flanders")
• Nick Callahan appears and dies. ("Realty Bites")
• Homer and Marge portray Adam and Eve respectively. ("Simpsons Bible Stories")
• Bart tries to moon Marge while still unborn. ("I Married Marge")
