Raleigh is the capital city of North Carolina named for Sir Walter Raleigh.
History[edit]
After escaping aboard the Wright brothers' Model B aircraft, Sideshow Bob remarked that aviation had lost its exclusivity, complaining that modern aircraft allowed "every Joe Sweatsock" to fly to destinations such as Raleigh-Durham.[1]
While in The Prodigy Barn toy store, Bart was playing a video game that involved blasting the capital cities of every state. He was having fun, until he realized that it was an educational game and threw the controller at the TV screen, exclaiming "That'll teach you to teach me!"[2]
Raleigh-Durham Skoal Bowl was a stop on the Hullabalooza nationwide tour which Homer joined as part of the freak show.[3]
