Jurassic Park is a 1990 novel by Michael Crichton about a theme park where dinosaurs have been cloned and create chaos and destruction when certain things go wrong. In 1993 it was adapted into a blockbuster movie by Steven Spielberg and became the most financially successful film of all time, after Spielberg's previous releases Jaws (1975) and E.T. (1982). The success of Jurassic Park was so massive at the time that it spawned a fad around everything related to dinosaurs. Since then Crichton wrote more novels in the Jurassic Park franchise, while the film adaptation itself received several sequels. The franchise has often been referenced in The Simpsons, usually the 1993 movie.

This is a reference to the scene in Jurassic Park where the Tyrannosaurus Rex peers through the car window to the children inside. 100 "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baadasssss Song" Principal Skinner tells Bart he's working on a novel about an amusement park with dinosaurs called Billy and the Cloneasaurus, which Apu rightfully condemns as plagiarism. 6 106 "Itchy & Scratchy Land" The Simpsons are brought to Itchy & Scratchy Land by helicopter, just like the visitors of Jurassic Park. The image on the helicopter even resembles the logo on the Jurassic Park helicopter. Also like the film, the attractions in Itchy & Scratchy Land get out of control and create havoc. 109 "Treehouse of Horror V" When Homer's toaster teleports him back to prehistoric times, the Jurassic Park theme music briefly plays as he says, "I've gone back in time to when dinosaurs weren't just confined to zoos". Additionally a Tyrannosaurus Rex similar to how they look in the films appears, with the same roar to boot. 10 208 "When You Dish Upon a Star" The water in the celebrities' glasses starts shaking when crowds of enthusiastic fans are coming near, just like the water in the paper cups when the Tyrannosaurus Rex approaches the tour vehicles. 224 "Monty Can't Buy Me Love" The Jurassic Park theme music plays as Mr. Burns flies off to Scotland to find the Loch Ness Monster. 226 "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo" Godzilla peers through the airplane window just like the T-Rex did through the car window in Jurassic Park. 13 282 "The Old Man and the Key" One of Los Souvenir Jacquitos wears a Jurassic Park jacket. 22 478 "Angry Dad: The Movie" The film's theme music is played during the awards show montage. 25 548 "Days of Future Future" Cretaceous Park is a parody of Jurassic Park, as well as a reference to most of the dinosaurs used in Jurassic Park being from the Cretaceous era. The board under the sign even says "Now Correctly Named". 26 565 "Walking Big & Tall" Albert getting off his mobility scooter parodies the T-Rex scene from the films. 28 612 "Kamp Krustier" Chief Wiggum approaching the treehouse makes drinks shake and stomping noises like in Jurassic Park, where some scenes of the film have loud stomping noises that causes drinks to shake. 30 643 "Treehouse of Horror XXIX" The segment "Geriatric Park" is a parody of Jurassic Park. The helicopter passes over the gates of Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park 2, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic World and Jurassic World 2. The song "Geriatric Park" is a reference to the "Theme from Jurassic Park". The Jurassic Park logo is seen on the jacket of one of the Los Souvenir Jacquitos. 31 683 "The Hateful Eight-Year-Olds" When Lisa finds Addy's horses, the Jurassic Park theme plays and a Brachiosaurus appears behind them. 36 788 "Stew Lies" Luigi's line "We asked: "Could-a we make it?" We never asked "Should-a we make it?"" is a reference to the quote "Scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should" by Ian Malcolm.
