In this fantasy, she was publicly disqualified from becoming President of the United States after it was revealed that she had once received an F in physical education. As punishment, she was sentenced to a lifetime of exile on "Monster Island," a supposedly terrifying place inhabited by giant monsters. Creatures such as Gamera, Rodan, and Mothra were shown roaming the island, which was overrun with fire-breathing beasts, emphasizing the absurdity of the imagined punishment.[1]
When the Simpsons leave Tokyo Mothra attacks their plane, alongside Godzilla, Rodan and Gamera.[2]
In a short film by Guillermo del Toro, del Toro mentioned that Mothra was one of the monsters that he loved.[3]
