During a dinner at the Simpson family home, Marge Simpson attempted to create what she called “the most international coffee in the house” by serving a beverage known as Montreal Morn while trying to calm tensions between Homer, Patty, and Selma over Homer's financial debts. However, shortly afterward, she apologized and admitted that the family only had Nescafé available in the house.[1]

When Channel 6 sponsored a contest to pick a mascot for the Olympics that were going to be held in Springfield, Kent Brockman said that the mascot would join such other memorable mascots as "the Atlanta Whatzit and the Montreal Vampire."[2]

One of the things Homer's talking Astrolabe tells him is that it is "6:37 p.m. in Montreal".[3]
