The Sunsphere is a large structure that serves as a symbol for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee.
History
When Bart, Milhouse, Martin and Nelson arrived at the fair grounds they found that the whole fair was rundown and, after talking with a man who was selling wigs, that the Sunsphere had supposedly become the "Wigsphere". The man then asked Bart if he was going to buy some wigs. As the four boys sat on the curb, wearing their new wigs, Nelson threw a rock at the Sunsphere, causing it to topple over onto their car.
