Kitty Hawk is a beach town in North Carolina best-known as the location where the Wright brothers flew their first controlled flight in 1903.
History
Grampa mentioned Kitty Hawk when he and Bart saw the Wright Brothers' plane at the airshow but then went off on one of his nonsensical ramblings.[1]
Footage from the Wright brothers' first controlled flight in Kitty Hawk was shown at the Springfield Air and Space Museum.[2]
