• The episode title is a reference to the 1944 song "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by Frank Loesser and it is the same song (with a few changes to the lyrics) that Sideshow Bob and Cassandra sing together in the final scene.

• "Carol of the Bells" by Mykola Leontovych plays several times in the episode.
• The United Parcel Service (UPS) delivers parcels in Springfield.
