The Simpsons take Grampa to revisit O'Flanagan's Pub in the small Irish town of Dunkilderry. Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie take a bus to Dublin to sightsee which just happens to be on "Bloomsday" were people tours the real places in the city where main character Leopold Bloom goes during a single day, June 16, 1904, in the novel Ulysses by James Joyce.
