Ticonderoga is town next to its namesake 18th-century fort in Upstate New York.

History[edit]

Bart had been briefly expelled from Springfield Elementary and home schooled by Marge. While being home schooled, Bart took an interest in the book Johnny Tremain, which was set during the American Revolution, so Marge suggested they take a field trip to Olde Springfield Towne. The guide had explained during a slideshow how Jebediah Springfield had led a charge in the Battle of Ticonderoga, but he was also credited with whacking a snake on the first "Whacking Day" in 1775. Bart had noticed a discrepancy and asked how Jebediah Springfield could have been whacking a snake in Springfield on the first Whacking Day and also at the Battle of Ticonderoga as both would have been on the same day: May 10th, 1775.
