Springfield is the capital city of Illinois.
History[edit]
While in The Prodigy Barn toy store, Bart Simpson was playing a video game that involved blasting the capital cities of every state. He was having fun, until he realized that it was an educational game and threw the controller at the television screen, exclaiming "That'll teach you to teach me!"[1]
