• The title of the episode is a reference to the play My Fair Lady.
  • This episode is the second to make a reference to this play; the other is "My Fair Laddy" from season 17.
• The first scene right after the opening is a parody of The Jetsons:
  • Homer as George Jetson.
  • Bart as Elroy Jetson.
  • Lisa as Judy Jetson.
  • Marge as Jane Jetson.
  • Bender from Futurama also appears at the end of that scene.
  • Laramie Jr. is a reference to Laramie Cigarettes
• Lenny is glad that Moe has the opportunity to attend a Laney Fontaine show. He says she is funny and full of Hollywood stories, and gives the example of Jimmy Stewart being a "super-nice guy". Stewart was famous for many "nice-guy" characters he played in many movies.
• Laney Fontaine sings a slightly modified version of "If This Isn't Love" written by E. Y. Harburg. She also finds Moe attractive and compares him with American actor Patrick Swayze, who was named by People magazine as the "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1991.
• One of the ladies at Moe's Ladies night was wearing a Yamaha Mamas jacket. Yamaha Motors is one important motorcycle manufacturer.
• Marge started working for social media app like Uber.
• Gil Gunderson thought he was on Cash Cab, an American game show where participants answer questions and can earn money.
• One of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspectors interpreted Freddie Mercury in a cover band, and was later "demoted" to Brian May.
• One of the taxi drivers, Slava, says his taxi is empty like Sochi Marriott, a hotel in Sochi, Russia.
• Mr. Burns owns a Venus flytrap, a carnivorous plant.
• Moe escalates to a high position at Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. On one occasion, he wanted to join his friends at the cafeteria for lunch because there was no more Beaujolais Crus, a French wine, at the executive dinner room and he was not going to drink white wine with his Coq au vin.

• Bart has no lines in this episode. However, Nancy Cartwright, was still heard within the episode as other characters such as Nelson.
• Marge says she would like to have a fridge with an ice-maker, but the Simpsons already had it. ("See Homer Run")
• The orange station wagon's license plate number is EP7G08. 7G08 is the episode production code for "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" which the first ever episode to be aired.

Goofs[edit]

• In a scene, Grady is seen with black hair.
• One of the stops on Marge's list is "Playdate - Janey's house"; however, Janey is seen at the swimming pool.
• In one scene, Lisa's white pearl necklace turns orange, like Marge's necklace.
