- Bart is watching the skate bail video "Fatal Nard Crush" on MyTube, a parody of YouTube.
- Project: After Party is a reference to the 2012 found footage teen comedy Project X.
- A character resembling Danny Trejo can be seen on the Project: After Party website.
- The song "Electro Drop" by Daniel Dove and Richard Searle can be heard on the trailer.
- Homer gives the example of American actor Randy Quaid when he asks Bart to eat his broccoli.
- Homer drafted American footballer Tim Tebow for his fantasy football team. Tebow had a notable performance during his football college career but was questioned in his years in the NFL. Homer also hints at Tebow's Christian faith, which made him a cultural phenomenon.
- Homer's fantasy football team is called "Somewhere Over the Dwayne Bowe". This is a reference to the song "Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz and to former NFL player Dwayne Bowe.
