East St. Louis is a city in Illinois directly across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri.
History[edit]
When Springfield's most intelligent citizens take over the city, Comic Book Guy notes that Springfield is now 299 on the list of the country's 300 most liveable cities, and says: "Take that, East St. Louis".[1]
When planning their trip to Brazil, Lisa says it will be really cheap if they change planes in Phoenix, Honolulu, Sun City, and East St. Louis, spend the night in a haunted house and leave "right now."[2]
When Homer says he is planning a trip to St. Louis, and is asked "East St. Louis?", he replies "Is there any other St. Louis?"[3]
