The Worker of the Week Award is a weekly ceremony held at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant to recognize the worker of the week.

At the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, it's time once again for the dreaded "Worker of the Week" award—dreaded by most, except for Homer, who sees it as his big chance. As the only employee who has never received the honor, Homer is feeling optimistic after discovering in the employee handbook that every worker must win the award at least once, regardless of their competence. But his dreams are crushed when Mr. Burns announces the winner: an inanimate carbon rod.
