Welcome![edit]
Hello, Bart103, and welcome to Wikisimpsons! Thank you for your edits to the Julius Hibbert article and taking interest in our wiki. If you have any troubles, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other any experienced editors' talk page. Also, you could look at a help page. Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Character Categories (Recurring, THOH)[edit]
Hi, please check the definition of a recurring character before you put the category onto any other character pages. Characters such as Homer, Lisa, and Abe are considered main characters, not recurring. In general, a recurring character is someone who is seen occasionally, or even regularly, but not all the time, and therefore not quite often enough to be considered a main character. Examples on the show include Fat Tony, Groundskeeper Willie and the Flanders family members. Solar Dragon or one of the other admins could probably provide more detail on exactly what constitutes a recurring vs. main character. Thank you. -- Mythigator 13:28, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, please ask about the Treehouse of Horror characters category before you remove it from any more characters. I'm not sure about the criteria for applying it, but as with the recurring category, it would be good to ask first and act later, after you're informed. Thanks again. -- Mythigator 13:32, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Linking Tip - Use the Redirects[edit]
Hi again, Bart / Patrick. The articles for a lot of major characters have redirects in the system so that their first name goes to their article. So, for example, to link to Marge Simpson's article and just have "Marge" show on the page, you don't need to type "[[Marge Simpson|Marge]]". Typing just "[[Marge]]" will work fine. Some wikis don't like having people use the redirects, but we're not only OK with the redirects, we also encourage people to use them as it makes working on the articles a little easier. Thanks again for your work, and hope that helps you out. -- Mythigator 15:43, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
Got your reply on my talk page. I understand your preference, but the style here is to go ahead and use the redirects instead of doing the extra typing. Besides, you might as well make it a little easier on yourself, since you have the opportunity. If you scroll 'way up to the talk of my talk page, you'll see that Solar told me the same thing when I first started making edits here on Wikisimpsons. -- Mythigator 17:26, September 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Redirects are perfectly acceptable and are in fact encouraged here. They usually use less code on the page which results in much faster loading times. The reason we have redirects is so there is less typing involved. Don't bother making meaningless edits just to remove the redirect. Thanks, ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 19:29, September 25, 2010 (UTC)
Re:Credit pages[edit]
Hey, I noticed you removed the multiple uses of Producer and made it into one Producers. We use the first way as that is how the credits show on the show. ----- It's Magic - Kingcjc 09:06, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Once again, can you refrain from changing the page formating. ----- It's Magic - Kingcjc 19:08, October 2, 2010 (UTC)
Re: New Skin[edit]
Hi, Patrick, thanks for dropping by my talk page. I checked out the new skin on other Wikia wikis where I contribute (specifically, The Mentalist and NCIS) and while the skin is mildly annoying on those sites, it's really bad on WikiSimpsons. I haven't even dared (so far) to see what the new skin does to Criminal Minds and Harry Potter. (sigh)
If I may suggest something: Brian McClure (on his blog) asked a question about who's sticking around and who's going to shout. If you would go to Brian's blog and share your opinion, that would be good. It should be the most recent entry in his blog, so it shouldn't be any trouble to find. Thanks in advance! -- Mythigator 18:48, October 20, 2010 (UTC)
