Character Status[edit]
For characters who are real people (such as James Lipton), we maintain a distinction between their in-universe characters and their real-world selves. In the case of James Lipton, that means that even though he is deceased in real life, the status on his character article stays at "Alive" until his passing is established in-universe. We have a policy/guideline page about character status that explains it in more detail. Please take a look. That's why your edit to the James Lipton character article was reverted. Thank you! -- Mythigator (talk) 13:19, March 7, 2020 (EST)
