Bart read Maggie what he claimed was the real story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. In his version, Goldilocks broke into the Bears' house, sampled their porridge, tried their chairs and beds, and fell asleep in Kid Bear's bed. When the Bears returned, Kid Bear declared, "Hey, look, man—breakfast in bed!" and the Three Bears ate Goldilocks. Maggie burst into tears, prompting Bart to reassure her that it was only a story and not a "docudrama."[1]
The three bears house was an attraction at Storytown Village. During the Simpson family's visit, they explored the attraction, where mechanical figures of the three bears recreated scenes from the classic story. When the family entered the house, Grampa Simpson was found in Baby Bear's bed, explaining that he had rested there because the car had been extremely hot.[2]

After Bart and Lisa were thrown into the Deep Dark Woods by Homer, they found their way to the Three Bears' House. After entering, Bart ate the porridge of Papa Bear and Mama Bear by mixing them together. At that moment, Lisa realized it was the Three Bears' House, and they noticed the front door opening. Bart and Lisa hid behind the door as the bears entered the house. They then ran out the door and used a chair to hold the door shut. As they walked away, Lisa wondered what happened to Goldilocks. Goldilocks then woke up to the three bears, who attacked and likely killed her.[3]
