They Draw is a Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror story first printed in Bart Simpson's Treehouse of Horror #13.
Synopsis[edit]
- After finding a pair of special sunglasses, Lenny realizes that he's living in a comic book, and now he has the power to alter everyone's stories.
Plot[edit]
Lenny has another boring day at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, with very little happening and everybody he speaks to having little to say to him. Lenny then realizes that it's Carl's birthday and he hasn't gotten his best friend a gift. Lenny rummages through the lost and found box and finds a pair of sunglasses that he thinks Carl might like. When he tries them on, all the color disappears from the world and everything becomes rough line sketches and notes describing the people, like a rough draft of a comic book. Lenny realizes that nobody has much going on except Homer, who has many notes attached to him.
Lenny tells Carl about the sunglasses, and he puts them on. After this, they get Professor Frink to duplicate them so that they can gather a group of background characters to make their lives more interesting. Later, Lenny's group of exciting friends travels through Springfield with a dragon, with all of the group having interesting notes attached to them.
