The Itchy & Scratchy Show Episode Information
|
"The Greatest Gory Ever Told" is an episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show.
History[edit]
After Itchy and Scratchy became public domain, a Christian-themed episode was made featuring the characters.
Plot[edit]
Abraham (played by Scratchy) is riding a horse with his son, Isaac (played by Itchy) when God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son at Moriah. Abraham takes Isaac to Moriah and gets ready to sacrifice him. However, God stops him and tells him that he has proven his love of God and that he will be blessed with multiplied seed. Abraham and Isaac then hug as a parody of "The Itchy & Scratchy Show theme song" plays.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The title is a reference to the 1965 epic religious film The Greatest Story Ever Told. The plot of the episode is a parody of the Binding of Isaac, where Abraham is told by God to sacrifice his son, Isaac, in Moriah.
