The Carpenters were an American pop/soft rock vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter. They were credited as performing the song "(They Long To Be) Close to You" in the closing credits of the film The Simpsons Movie.
Outside of The Simpsons Movie, the same song was used in several episodes, such as "The Way We Was" and "Maximum Homerdrive".
