Synopsis[edit]
Plot[edit]
Bart is awake at 12:37 after he let Martin experiment on him with a "distillate of Buzz Cola". He goes to grab his ear plugs so he doesn't have to hear Homer's snoring, but finds they're filthy as he used them for eyeballs for his mud monster. Lisa then starts singing in her sleep so Bart goes to his treehouse to see if it's quieter there. All the night time noises make it so he still can't sleep, so he goes back into the house and tries to call Milhouse, but can't get through as Milhouse is sleeping. As Bart goes to watch television, Maggie appears.
Bart watches television with Maggie for a bit until she needs a diaper change. Bart goes to change her and comes back to find that the commercials are now on. A commercial advertises Insomniax, a sleeping aid. Bart decides to get Homer to take him to the pharmacy to get some, but realizes that the pharmacy is closed. Maggie then asks Bart to read her a book. After rejecting The Velveteen Rabbit, Maggie decides on a top secret book from the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Bart gets excited thinking that Homer may be a spy, but then decides that being a traitor is bad. Bart then starts to read the book to Maggie, but gets bored of it and falls asleep. Maggie then leaves the room turning the light off as she goes.
