- The title is a reference to the saying "All or Nothing".
- Birds at the Springfield Bird Sanctuary include the yellow-bellied sapsucker, the mountain bluebird, and the Virginia's warbler.
- When Lisa imagines the adventures she'll have with Mr. Hoots, she imagines a parody of Harry Potter, where Lisa saves the Harry Potter parody from the evil wizard, who's a parody of Lord Voldemort.
- When Mr. Burns overhears Homer talking about how annoying he is, Homer says that he meant Charles Burns, cartoonist for The New Yorker. Mr. Burns then says that he's a fan of Sam Cobean and mentions Cobean's "thirsty man crawling through the desert" gag.
- Mr. Burns mentions that he's trying to sell Howie Mandel's soul.
- Dewey Largo listens to Morceaux de fantaisie by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
- Kent Brockman refers to Lisa as "the Owl Whisperer", a reference to Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.
